Mountain Survival Guide

Hi there me beauties! I hope you’re well and you’re enjoying all the Christmas festivities! I had a great few days with my family and consumed copious amounts of mince pies! I mean, where does it all go?

Anyway, I’ve just packed my suitcase ready for a very early start tomorrow morning, I’m going to Austria! Woohoo! I’ve checked the forecast and there’ll be lots of snow. Yipeeeee! I can’t wait to see the mountains; there’s something so majestic about them that really puts things into perspective.

I know that I will come back with a clear head, fresh skin and the energy I need to hit 2019 running; sometimes we need to step outside of our usual routine to recalibrate.

I thought it’d be nice to share with you a few of the things I’m taking with me; a little snippet of what’s in my suitcase.

First-up it’s my lovely new asos jumper and scarf. The colours are gorgeous and they’re so soft and snuggly (and the scarf has pom-poms, oh yes); perfect for days walking in the snow and with jeans in the evenings (whilst wandering around the Christmas market sampling all the gluhwein delights!)

A girl needs snacks when she’s climbing mountains and I’ll be packing Nutmad activated almonds and Oh Lily popped Lotus seeds. Both are so scrummy and completely vegan, gluten and dairy-free. The most nutritious and protein-rich snack for my lunchbox!

Although it’ll be rather frosty, the sun may still be shining so I will be making sure that my lips are protected with the most beautiful balm by Albus & Flora, the idea for which was inspired by the mountains so it’ll be so wonderful to take them with me.

My mum recently visited New York and she brought me back some beautiful Tarte Cosmetics products. They’re cruelty-free and the packaging is just gorgeous!  The blusher is a beautiful coral tone with a hint of bronze; the perfect colour for fair hair and grey eyes!

After a day of walking and burning-off the mince pies, I’ll be taking a break with a beautiful cup of Balaggan chai. All 6 flavours are simply divine, the chai recipe itself has been passed through the generations originating in the Punjab. The flavours are beautiful; each using top-grade ingredients and the finest Black Assam.

My most recent and completely delicious find is Lo Bros organic, live and probiotic Kombucha. The range of flavours is out of this world and I will be enjoying their delicious Ginger Beer blend whilst on the slopes! Kombucha is amazing for the gut which needs a bit of a boost during the colder months. It helps to feed the friendly bacteria thus allowing it to flourish which can impact overall health in magnificent ways! I’ve got my eye on the passionfruit one next!

No smart girls survival guide would be complete without something to read for those cozy nights in by the log fire (more gluhwein in hand obvs).

I am jumping for joy that this amazing magazine features 3 of my juice recipes in its January edition. I feel very fortunate and grateful to have my little kitchen in there for the world to see! Thank you Vegan Food & Living Magazine.

There’s also an Essential Guide to Veganuary that I cannot wait to get stuck into! I love this mag so much; it’s a completely gorgeous collection of recipes and tips for wellbeing.

For an extra bit of luxury, I’ll be wearing my new, exquisite jewels by Horizons Jewellery from the Avalon collection. Each piece has been created with so much love and they are charged with beautiful energy; my ring and necklace are just stunning.

These are just a few of my favourite things and I am so excited to be heading to Austria with them in-tow! I’ll be sharing my pics of the mountains as well so take a look at my Instagram over the next week or so for all the updates!

That’s a wrap! Now to wrap myself up for the snow! Enjoy the rest of your Christmas break and wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

All my love and encouragement,

Holly xxx
