Hello dear HWK friends, I hope you’re enjoying the glorious sunshine! Today, my work took me in an adventure to the sunny Pembury countryside and it was a just beaut!
With the spring flowers waking from their winter slumber in all their vibrant outfits, I thought that it would be nice to share some equally as colourful recipes with you, well, pink recipes anyway (I have lots). So, I’ve chosen my absolute faves just for you – hope you love them as much as I loved creating (and eating) them!
Strawberry & Banana Smoothie
I must admit, I got a little bit sentimental when I re-discovered this pic. This was the very first smoothie I blended and took a snap of a whole 5 years ago! Where has that time gone? 5 years actually seems like quite a long time to be reaching for the same goal but when you know that you’re on the right path, you’ve gotta just keep pushing!
Recipe: 1 x cup of frozen strawberries, 1 x ripe banana, 100g of almonds, 1 x tsp of maca powder, 300ml of coconut water
I absolutely adore this blend, it’s completely nutritionally-balanced and it is the most amazing post-workout fuel! It feels so nice to nourish in a wholesome way after exercising; our bodies respond really well when we put the right sustenance in!
Raspberry Razzle Smoothie
I have no words for this delicious blend apart from maybe “yumtastic”…..With a twist of fresh lime and a sprig of mint, it’ll make your day all kindsa zingytastic! I might just put the suffix ‘tastic’ on the end of all of my words! Good times.
Raspberries are bursting with anti-oxidants, they are great for skin health and they will zap-up those pesky free-radicals that can have a negative impact on how our bodies function.
Recipe: 1 x cup of frozen raspberries, 1 x frozen banana, 100f of cashews, 100ml of almond mylk, 1 x tsp of pitaya powder, juice of 1 lime, fresh mint sprigs, 200ml of coconut water.
Strawberry Dreamboat Smoothie
Oh hey there smoothie-liscious blend of dreams, what a dreamboat you are! I think I’m in actual love! This juicy blend really does evoke all the feelings of summer in a mason jar! I adore this luscious blend and it’s the perfect addition to any morning routine to get you off on the right foot. With the addition of coconut milk, it elevated to a whole other creamy level!
Recipe: 1 x cup of fresh summer strawbs, 1 x juicy mango, half a papaya, 3 x tbsp of coconut milk, 100g of walnuts, desiccated coconut, 200ml of coconut water.
Very Berry Banger Smoothie
Well hello there beautiful chalice of berry delight! You’re giving me all the hydrating, energising, nourishing feels right now! Thick, creamy and filling, the blend is a perfect any-time-of-day snack! You can blend it I the morning, pop it in your bag, give it a shake and enjoy! Yummmmy!
Recipe: 1 x cup of berries of your choice, 100g of GF oats, 100g of seeds, 1 x small handful of walnuts, 3 x tbsp of coconut nectar, 200ml of coconut water.
Strawberry & Coconut Kisses
Top Tip: if you have any leftover smoothie, simply pop into an ice cube tray and freeze for another day! Heart-shaped tray completely essential, of course! (See main image)
