Blueberry Belter Smoothie

This is my sumptuous Blueberry Belter smoothie, a delightful concoction of delicious and nutritious fresh, antioxidant-rich ingredients. It is a cheeky blend of banana, blueberries, Vitacoco coconut water and almonds. I also added a sprinkling of organic Maca powder to make it extra magical. Almonds are a great source of protein and they contain gorgeous fatty acids that are essential for brain function. They are also amazing for the skin, helping to fortify the liver and its ability to detoxify.

Maca is rich in Vitamins B,C, and E and it provides Zinc, Magnesium and amino acids in abundance. It is also great for skin sensitivity, helping it to withstand extremes of temperature which is particularly good with the colder weather on its way. Maca is said to help with hormonal imbalances but it is best to add a small quantity to your smoothies to begin with, maybe half a teaspoon per day. I add it to my smoothies twice a week and my skin has been really responsive to it. I no longer get the painful hormonal break-outs along my jawline which is an absolute treat :).
