Reconnect

“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns” George Elliot.

Well, it’s the 1st day of a shiny new month and what a month it is! October, vibrant with colour; the deep red-stained sunset skies, kaleidoscope leaves waiting their turn to dance. It’s all about timing, letting go of the old and making way for the new. Mother Nature guides us and it is our chance to reconnect with ourselves, the earth, nourish, adapt, re-align, let go of old habits and create new ones.

The subject of Self-care Sunday today is ‘Reconnect’ – The shorter days and cosy nights provide us the opportunity to take time out, eat gorgeous, healthy food that’s going to nourish and sustain us and it gives us the chance to connect with all the beauty and vivid life we’re surrounded with.

Here are my Top 3 Tips for being totally sparkly through this glorious month!

1. Join my 30-day water challenge! Contact me for details and I’ll email you the free printable! Keeping hydrated is key to great health, especially this time of year.

2. Drink chai tea! Add a dash of fresh turmeric root to make it extra potent! Turmeric has amazing anti-inflammatory properties and it’ll give the immune system a huge boost.

3. Reach out. There is the temptation to want to hybernate completely when it’s cold outside but it’s very important to keep active. The golden sunshine throughout autumn is so good for the soul and a long, sunny walk can be just the ticket!

Invite friends over to watch Bake Off, start a coffee club, or join a book club. I like to do Pilates classes in the winter, it helps me to stay sociable whilst doing some good for my body and mind.

Have a great month and remember to wrap up warm!

Lots of love,

Holly xxx
